First Semester (Fall)

Evidence (may be taken in a later semester)

Semesters for full-time entry:
Fall or spring

(2009 last year for spring entry; must also attend 2009 summer session)

Minimum course load for full-time residency status:
15 credit hours/semester for first year and 10 credit hours/semester thereafter

Estimated time for completion:
Three years

(may be completed in 2.5 years by attending summer sessions)

 

Part-Time J.D. - Required Curriculum [top]

Students will be required to take classes at both the Gulfport campus and the Tampa Law Center.

Beyond providing a strong foundation in legal doctrine, Stetson’s academic curriculum allows students to distinguish themselves through clinical programs, skills courses, and concentration and dual-degree programs for practice in specialized areas of law.

Stetson has established itself as a national leader in the areas of advocacy, elder law, higher education law and policy, and international law through its Centers for Excellence. The centers advance legal developments in these subject areas through conferences, workshops, research projects and scholarship.
