Cathy Fitch
Director of Career Development

Cathy took the position as director of career development at Stetson University College of Law in August 1997. She oversees and participates in every aspect of the office including career development, student and graduate counseling, management of staff and budgeting. Prior to joining Stetson, Cathy was with the career development office at Georgetown University. She also received her A.B. degree from Georgetown.

Sonja Hayes
Associate Director of Career Development

Sonja began her position with Stetson Law in August 2007. She assists the director with the administration of the office and provides individual counseling for students and alumni. Sonja received her law degree from Western New England College School of Law and her bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont.

Jennifer Horton
Assistant Director of Career Development

Jennifer has been with Stetson Law since April 1997. She worked with the Assistant Dean’s Office for two years and then moved to the Office of Career Development in 1999. Jennifer provides one-to-one counseling and resume and cover letter reviews. She handles the on-campus interviewing program, job fair duties, and Career Development programs. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida Metropolitan University in 2005.

Haley Courville '07
Assistant Director of Career Development

Haley joined the Office of Career Development in October 2009. She specializes in counseling on careers in public interest, including government positions, as well as alternative careers. She is also available for resume and cover letter review, or to conduct mock interviews. Prior to joining the Office of Career Development, Haley worked as a volunteer attorney at Children’s Legal Services, in the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, and as an associate at Awerbach & Cohn P.A., where she focused on title insurance matters. Haley is a member of The Florida Bar, and received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of South Florida.       

Stacy Elizondo
Administrative Specialist

Stacy has been with Stetson Law since October 2001. She formerly worked with the assistant dean before joining the Office of Career Development in May 2003. Stacy handles the budget, promotional ordering, posting job listings, and reciprocity requests with other law schools. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office. She assists students and graduates with setting up appointments for the counselors in the office.

Stetson's Office of Career Development works to ensure that students and graduates have the skills to compete in the legal job market.  In addition, the Office of Career Development provides a network of resources connecting prospective employers with Stetson students.  This network includes on-campus interviewing programs, resume referrals, online job listings, internships and temporary assignments.
